A Scrum Master and Agile Coach is required to join the R&D Department to deliver ground-breaking signalling system software-based products.

The Scrum Master and Agile Coach will be expected to work with Scrum teams to facilitate Scrum activities and improve our Scrum implementation. The Scrum Master and Agile Coach will work closely with a team of Software Engineers and stakeholders in a dynamic development environment enhancing our application of Scrum for both safety-critical and safety-related software developments. The focus of the team will be on producing software solutions, performing all parts of the development lifecycle. The team will use a mix of traditional and agile techniques to manage risk and ensure on-time delivery of quality software.

What are my responsibilities?

· Ensure Scrum is understood and enacted
· Coaching the development team in Agile development techniques
· Coaching the wider organisation in Agile development techniques
· Produce and maintain useful empirical measures of team performance
· Communication with stakeholders
· Support of the development team
· Arrange required Scrum events
· Report on progress as required
· Remove impediments to the development team’s progress
· Support the Product Owner

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· Certified Scrum Professional, Certified Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Master, or equivalent qualification (essential)
· Demonstrable knowledge of standards and practices as applicable to engineering disciplines, withexperience delivering software in a regulated environment (essential)
· Experience in a Scrum Master role (essential)
· Strong analytical abilities (essential)
· Self-motivated, adaptable and able to learn quickly (essential)
· Good knowledge of configuration management and control practices (essential)
· Able to work to tight timescales (essential)
· Good verbal and written communication skills (essential)
· Excellent inter-personal skills (essential)
· Willingness to occasionally travel overseas (essential)
· Other Scrum and Agile qualifications and experience, e.g. Certified Team Coach, Scaled Professional Scrum, etc.
· Experience of working with Safety Critical Software to SIL4 level
· Experience of software designed in UML
· Experience with Artisan
· Experience with IBM’s tool portfolio, specifically DOORS, Synergy and RTC
· Railway Industry background. Knowledge of CENELEC 50128.
· Experience of development in C#
· Experience of development in SQL
