Job description

The Project Accountantis responsible for the delivery of effective accounting and administrative service to the business in the core activities of the finance and commercial functions, within the Rail Systems business. Duties include accounting activities such as account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries; may include tax accounting activitie and foreign currency transactions. You will alsoprepareand maintainledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and fiscal reports

What are my responsibilities?

· Purchase ledger workflow
· GR/IR
· Aged Creditors responsiblity
· Payment proposal plans
· Sales Ledger and General Ledger
· Internal & external audit work & support
· Internal control related activities
· Month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes
· Balance Sheet reconciliations
· Cost centre controlling / reviews
· Forecasting and Budgeting
· Forex reporting and exposure to reporting and analytics
· Maintain and process entries in accordance with Siemens FRG and IFRS standards
· Provision of support to line managers and respective teams
· Involvement in special projects and any other tasks and responsibilities in line with business requirements
· Ongoing improvement of financial processes and procedures in the context of the job and financial activities in line with Siemens values
· Fixed assets/leasing.
· GSS Cost Controlling (SVP/IT Costs).
· Assist in preparation & aggregation of statutory packs and reports such as PSA packs, Tax packs, and CIS return.
· Provision of support to Finance Manager and finance department.
· Monthly Cost centre reviews with budget holders, including full variance analysis.
· Processing of Inventory adjustments though the systems and liasing on projects
· Provide support for quantity and price queries on Inventory.
· Inventory reconciliations and Inventory reporting.
· Proactive management of the NCC process.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

• Part qualified in CIMA or ACCA or equivalent and keen to continue with studies

• Good accounting skills with ability to demonstrate basic understanding and interpretation of key financial statements

• Must have an interest in accounting systems as administration/maintenance of Spiridon is a relevant part of the role.

• Microsoft Office experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

• Highly ethical and responsible in an approach to work

• Highly committed to work with positive outlook with the ability to demonstrate initiative with flexible and proactive approach to work

• Self-disciplined with strong time management ability and superb attention to detail

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and takes the initiative

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong willingness to learn and develop

· Willigness to travel when needed to our other offices in Stratford, London

• Able to demonstrate support to finance team with collaborative approach
