Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated software qualityengineer to work on Calibre’s parasitic extraction software product in theDesign to Silicon business unit. These products deliver accurate parasitic datafor comprehensive post-layout analysis and simulation of integrated circuitdesigns. You will be part of a team responsible for testing, debugging andqualifying software releases and updates. Quality assurance responsibilitieswill involve the design, development, and execution of application specificfunctional and regression tests used to measure the quality, robustness,performance, and usefulness of these products in our customer's semiconductordesign flows. You will collaborate with senior software engineers, qualityassurance specialists, marketing, and customer support professionals to helpdeliver timely product releases that provide value to our customers. The idealengineer will develop and maintain a product test environment that supportsquality assurance testing of releases and patches as well as be challenged todevelop innovative automated test cases and develop the processes and toolsneeded to influence and improve the quality of the Calibre xACT product.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the followingcombination of education and experience:

  • BS/ MS. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience with automating and maintaining regression test suites
  • Prior experience with UNIX and/or LINUX platforms is vital.
  • Shell Scripting experience or other scripting languages (e.g., bash, ksh, csh. Perl, Python)
  • Programming experience in C, C++, or Java
  • Familiar with using defect tracking systems
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Practical experience with source code control tools (e.g., GIT, Perforce, Subversion, CVS, etc.)
  • Software quality assurance expertise and process knowledge is required
  • An understanding of IC physical design, layout, and verification flows is highly desired
  • Knowledge of IC manufacturing process flows is beneficial

  • Eagerness to break software and a curiosity of how things work
  • Exposure to CAD/CAE environments that involve circuit simulation, parasitic extraction and netlisting tools

  • Self-motivation, self-discipline and the ability to set personal goals and work consistently towards them will go far towards contributing to your success.

The hourlyrange for this position is $32.69 to $58.84 and this role is eligible to earnincentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on thesuccessful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training. Siemensoffers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
