We are recruiting for a C# Software Developer .

The shop floor is controlled and automated by IT and we need some help maintaining this environment as well as pushing us forward with new code as the factory evolves. With a Virtual Reality Cave and robots coming into production this is a fast paced and exciting place to work! We are a tight knit team and work hard in a fun environment.

We need someone with strong C# and .NET skills to not only support and maintain existing application landscape, but write new code and applications to move us towards our target landscape. This includes working with the new Siemens cloud platform Mindsphere, which will connect all of the shop floor hardware to a hosted platform where we need to develop apps! Flexibility is key in this role so if you like every day to be different then this is the role for you.

Working in an effective team supporting a 24 / 7 manufacturing and office environment, you will provide reliable application development to support the business requirements, whilst enabling digital shopfloor automation initiatives in support of Industry 4.0

What are my responsibilities?

As part of a development team you will be supporting a high volume operational manufacturing site where availability of data is paramount. The role responsibilities include;

· Development and integration of new technologies to support Industry 4.0 requirements.
· Incident resolution / development / change release to bespoke Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications
· Maintenance and updating of legacy applications according to business requirements
· Hours are worked standard Monday to Friday with flexible working hours,however out of hours support may be required to support business projects / business working within manufacturing

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· Experience in C#, ASP .net, WCF (Windows Communication Foundation), Stored Procedures and SQL is essential
· Experience in VB, SQL Server Management Studio, Windows Forms, Exception Handling, Threading, MVC, TFS, UML, T-SQL, C++, Query Optimisation, SAP SSO, RFC is desirable.
· Previous experience developing Application for a manufacturing business with automation is desirable.
· Track record of successful project delivery
· Prove ability to write secure high quality code and supporting documentation
· An analytical and practical approach to solving problems
· Communication skills are vital in this role
· Exposure to Agile / Lean practices, ITIL, SDLM is essential
· Experience of Windows Mobile is advantageous
· Exposure to a manufacturing environment / manufacturing execution systems is desirable
