Who are we?

Our Research Group (Advanced Data Management) is part of Business Analytics and Monitoring (BAM) Technology Field of CT Research in Digitalization and Automation. Headquartered in Munich, we are a passionate community of around 190 researchers, data scientists and architects distributed across the globe. We strive to solve complex problems in various domains ranging from industry, energy, mobility and buildings to smart cities by applying methods and principles of data analytics and artificial intelligence. We are looking for equally passionate techies to join us in this exciting journey of finding solutions to some non-trivial problems of the petabyte world.

Is this you?
•Masters/Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from a reputed institute with grass-root experience of at least 3 years in architecting and implementing data pipelines and solution stacks
•Closely follow latest developments in Big Data landscape and be an early adopter of disruptive trends/technologies
•Proven deep technical expertise in designing and programming large scale data driven solutions using any of the high level programming languages viz. Java/Python/Scala (at least 6 years)
•Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is a must: ◦Deep understanding and hands-on experience in distributed computing frameworks, especially Hadoop, Spark and NoSQL datastores e.g. Cassandra, InfluxDB
◦Extensive experience with massively parallel data warehousing/query processing engines e.g. Druid, Presto, Impala and Tez
◦Expertise in cloud based data engineering solutions e.g. S3, Redshift, EMR and Lambda, Athena, Spectrum

•Experience in the following will be an added advantage: ◦Designing IIoT pipelines using opensource/enterprise solutions e.g. MQTT, Eclipse IoT, AWS IoT, Greengrass

Drive Growth Product marketing & promotion. In coordination with HQ, define and implement actions to stimulate the growth of selected key products. Goal is to evolve the business mix in line with HQ product roadmap & strategy, and to maximise margin yield (= volume x margin). Full 25% Sales growth of Target Products, Revenue Margin
Competency Product technical support. Provide a support service to satisfy customer technical queries. Utilize call-centre and/or web based tools to improve efficiency. Goal is to satisfy the queries at lowest possible cost, and as fast as possible. Appoints & develops direct reports and supports the development of key sales people, and the development of sales competencies and skills in the Area sales persons. Responsible for organizing internal and external trainings.
Defining & implementing the optimum zonal organisation. Building and managing a distributed team of specialists. Build the team having "dedicated specialists" for key core activities rather than having "non dedicated multi taskers". Goal is to provide optimum performance at minimum cost. Full 20% Net Promoter Score/Sales Volume per Own Department
Drive Standardization Business related tools, processes, and marketing materials. In coordination with HQ, implement tools / processes / materials i) to amplify the output of the sales force (e.g. product selection tools, marketing tools to automate "push" or "pull" activities), and ii) to amplify the output of order entry / logistics people (e.g. eBiz, portfolio simplification). Goal is to increase overall NS per FTE Full 20% Sales Volume per Total Dedicated CPS FTE
Product Positioning/Market Transparency/Marcom Defining the strategic local product portfolio. In coordination with HQ Product Managers, and CPS Logistics. Goal is to focus on "runner" products, to eliminate "time/money eaters" from the portfolio, to improve logistics performance & forecasting, and to harmonize the portfolio across the Zone. Product price positioning. Provide input to the Pricing Manager (see separate Job Profile) concerning positioning / repositioning of products within the overall portfolio . Provide Zone Marketing Strategy, needed content and input for MarCom-Strategy to Marcom colleagues. Ensures strategic Marketing- and Marcom planning on Zone level in close cooperation with respective MarCom colleagu Shared 10%
Performs long range strategic planning analysis and prepares summaries.
* Performs project coordination and information support for new strategy development on assigned projects.
* Completes market and business research and competitor analysis.
* Performs analysis of Strategic Business Segments, evaluates opportunities for new or existing Siemens products in new markets, channels or customer target groups.
* Evaluates potential acquisition candidates and prepares project proposals.
* Provides analytical support for due diligence of acquisition candidates. Participates with developing strategic planning tools for the organization.
* Performs strategic database management, design and related outside vendor/internal supplier activity coordination.
