The IoT Services is a Consulting and Solution unit, which is a part of Siemens, to offer customers an end-to-end solution for their digital transformation. The unit combines more than 20 years of consulting experience, proprietary methodologies, technical talent, comprehensive domain know-how and large-system implementation experience. The unit's approach is purely customer focused, drawing on its deep know-how in the client's respective industry to understand pain points and barriers in their digital transformation process. The solutions offered are vendor agnostic and designed to fit into the customer's legacy IT infrastructure.

Position Overview

Siemens IOT Services is looking for a IOT training & operations professional with strong hands on experience in creating training solutions for the Industrial sector (automotive, aerospace, chemicals, oil/gas, mining, etc).

The role is focused on building out an external training business including defining the strategy, operational plan and being accountable for the business results. This individual will develop a plan to build a set of training offers leveraging both Siemens and 3rd party capabilities. This role will initially focus on starting up portfolio and focus for the America's with close alignment at a global level.

This position is an individual contributor role and as business is established a case could be built for adding resources. The role will require a ‘start up' approach where investments need to be based on hard delivery of results such that we can show quick wins, while building a longer-term plan to expand the portfolio and team.

In addition to this role, the individual may take on additional strategic projects that the person based upon the candidates ability to add strategic value.


•Working for IOT Services this role will be responsible for defining the key external training services focus areas combing 3rd party providers & Siemens platforms/systems

•Engage global teams, solution heads and consulting teams to define the portfolio to ensure roadmap is clearly defined and obtainable

•Partner with Sales & Business Development to position & sell training offers

•Develop business case for expanding training organization beyond initial start up phase

•Engage 3rd party training partners, develop RFP and select the best delivery partner

•Collaborate with other training organizations inside Siemens to leverage best practices

•Accountable for the business results for training to ensure order/revenue targets are met

•Collaborate closely with all Siemens organizations (Operating Company and Strategic companies) to leverage Siemens customer intimacy, portfolio and domain know-how for strong IOT services training offerings

•Thinking at this level is characterized by a balance between strategic and tactical considerations. While focus is still tactical, there is a requirement for understanding strategy and determining needs relative to it.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

•US Citizenship is required

•Minimum of 6 years of experience in Top Tier Consulting firm or 10 years of industry experience

•Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other equivalent degree and work experience

•Prior experience in building & selling training offers

•Have collaborated and worked closely with multidisciplinary and international teams to create impactful training solutions

•Experience in developing training offers

•Systematic use of know-how to solve complex problems.

•Demonstrates high professional judgement competence.

•Changes existing ways and approaches.

•Idea generator for new and practical solutions.

•Impact on results in larger organization.

•Well established in external and internal networks within IOT.

•Proactively shares knowledge in a systematic way in larger organization to grow know-how base and supports a learning organization.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

•MBA Preferred

•Previous work experience in Industrial Internet of Things preferred

•Working knowledge of industrial customers

•Previous experience working inside or with Siemens Industrial products/solutions
