Overview:

For more than 30 years, Siemens Healthcare, Technology Center have been developing breakthroughs in science and emerging technologies. Technology Center is comprised of more than 300 of the world's most talented scientists, engineers and technical experts from over two dozen countries. Cross-functional research teams bring together a broad range of technical and business expertise from different disciplines.

The User Experience (UX) group is seeking for interns to work on R&D projects on the topic of User Interface Design. The internship can start immediately, preferably for 6 months. The User Experience group consults with and supports Siemens business sectors worldwide in UX design and strategy. From helping healthcare professionals make faster and more accurate diagnoses, to applying the latest innovations in wearable devices to various industries, we are constantly transforming the way the people experience and interact with technology.

What are my responsibilities?

Interaction design:
• Support the gathering, assessment and analysis of user requirements.
• Apply workflow analysis, information architecture, and interaction design skills to help define user interface concepts for complex systems and products.
• Design wireframes, storyboards, user interfaces in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and other industry standard software.
• Support development of interactive demos and front-end implementation.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including experts in cognitive psychology, interaction design, human factors engineering, and computer science.

Visual design:
• Help develop visual designs (information design, color systems, typographic rules, grid systems and other visual assets) for a wide variety of Siemens product interfaces.
• Write style guides capturing all design elements for proper life cycle management.
• Design user interfaces in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and other industry standard software.
• Support development of interactive demos and front-end implementation.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including experts in cognitive psychology, interaction design, human factors engineering, and computer science.

What skills do I need to qualify for this internship?

Interaction design:
• Undergraduate or graduate students in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related discipline for research.
• Excellent interaction design skills and experience in information architecture, workflow analysis, user profiling.
• Ability to design User Interfaces based on assessment and analysis of user requirements, exploration of interaction concepts, and refinement of design through an iterative process.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and other industry standard software

Visual design:
• Undergraduate or graduate students in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related discipline for research.
• Excellent visual design skills with command of information design, color systems, typographic rules, grid systems and other visual assets.
• Ability to design User Interfaces based on assessment and analysis of user requirements, exploration of visual languages, and refinement of design through an iterative process.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and other industry standard software
