Energy & Performance Services (EPS) is spearheading theSI growth in the grid edge market where energy efficient and connectedbuildings integrate within an evolving energy grid which needs to support a lowcarbon future. We focus on helping customers to reduce their energyconsumption, to become more sustainable and to be more resilient in terms ofenergy supply.
Within the EPS team, the Energy Advisory team supports ourclients with energy procurement, risk management and budgeting as well as carryout energy consulting projects on various topics. Over the next years we have ahigh growth ambition and are therefore looking for highly qualified andmotivated individuals who want to expand our position in the market and ourbusiness.
We are recruiting for an experienced and driven Energy Market Analyst to join our Energy Advisory team at EPS. This is anunrivalled opportunity to craft Siemens’ approach to this new business field,providing in-depth insight into selected energy markets and regulations toprovide value either within assigned consulting projects or in the frame of thesolution design for EPS projects and corresponding business models and valuepropositions – from an energy and sustainability perspective.
This is a remote based role and can be based anywhere withinthe UK, with occasional travel to our UK offices or customer meetings.

The focus of the role will be to support all aspects of theenergy price relationship with existing large and multi-site clients with aEuropean footprint. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge ofEuropean gas & power wholesale markets, being able to identify and summarisemarket trends and potential outlook. Experience in energy procurement and riskmanagement for corporate customers is highly desirable. You will have a highwork ethic with an ambition to succeed, be highly numerate, and have strongcommercial awareness. Key responsibilities include:
- Review and summarise energy market movements andtrends
- Carry out energy procurement tenders, both forfixed and flexible price contracts
- Support in the management of a Gas & PowerRisk Portfolio with an energy spend of >£200 million, including hedgingtrades on behalf of client portfolios.
- Conduct regular calls with clients to updatethem on current market developments.
- Long term forecasting of energy prices based onmarket fundamentals.
- Maintain and sustain relationships with energysuppliers.
- Support the Sales team with client meetings andconference calls.
You’ll build on your existing expertise, including:
- Significant relevant experience in theprocurement of energy contracts preferably in client-facing roles.
- Broad knowledge of European wholesale energymarkets
- Strong knowledge of both fundamental andtechnical analysis
- Excellent written & verbal communicationskills
- Ability to be self-motivated and with aproactive approach to work
- A high degree of proficiency in MS Excel(Vlookup, Pivot Tables, Offset, Sumproduct etc.)
- Understanding of the business context andtechnical landscape, especially on sustainability and ESG related topics
- An interest within sustainability and theimplications of international energy trade and developing legislation
- Ability to speak one or two additional Europeanlanguages would also be advantageous but not essential
