Business Development Intern

Location: The Crystal, London

Start: April 2017

Duration: 6-12 months

The Crystal is one of the world’s most sustainableand technologically advanced buildings. It is one of the only buildings in the world awarded both LEED Platinum and BREEAM Outstanding, the two highest accreditations, and a showcase for Siemens technologies. It is home to the world’s largest exhibition on the future of cities and to Siemens’ Global Centre of Competence for Cities (CoC).

Siemens established the CoC Cities to enter into a structured dialogue and base lining assessment with urban decision makers. The core activities are urban development and global account management for cities. The teams initiate the sales process to secure intelligent infrastructure business, acting as a leading trusted advisor to city authorities and infrastructure stakeholders. As a result, the CoC Cities generates sales leads and business opportunities. Furthermore, the team promotes the exchange of best practice between City stakeholders on a global scale, developing and publishing city indices and KPIs, as well as developing case studies and whitepapers for cities. Partnerships with leading public and private businesses and organizations fostered by the CoC Cities reinforce Siemens’ positioning in the market.

What are my responsibilities?

· Support the reporting and controlling of specific KPIs for worldwide sales opportunities including first level analysis
· Enhance and maintain MS-Excel based tools used for quarterly sales reporting
· Conduct urban market intelligence studies on selected growth markets
· Research reference cases and benchmarks to measure the performance of the CoC and the global City Account Management
· Create PowerPoint presentations

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· You would ideally be studying, or have studied a business administration/management/economics related subject and be able to stay with us for at least 6 months
· You should have a keen interest in urban development and sustainable technologies
· You must have a keen eye for detail
· Advanced skills level of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Excellent communication and networking skills

We are looking for someone to start ASAP with an option to extend the contract to 1 year.
