Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy now has an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Financial Controller to join a dynamic and busy team.

The Business Controlling Team based in Newcastle has recently taken on responsibilities for Onshore Controlling activities as well as the Service activities they already performed. The team will consist of 3 Performance Controllers who will consolidate performance and report to regional headquarters as well as manage budget, forecast and actuals processes across the business. This team will cover aspects of cost controlling, forecasting and management reporting.

We are looking for a motivated and communicative accounting professional, with a strong financial background and excellent analytical and technical abilities to become part of our Business Controlling Team. You will work closely with the Commercial Head of Onshore, Finance and Commercial managers as well as EMEA controlling HQ in Hamburg.

In this role you will be responsible forprovidingclear and accurate consolidation of the Onshore Construction Business Unit and reporting to UK & regional management as well as insightful analysis and commentary on performance versus targets. The role includes undertaking detailed financial analysis, management reporting, cost controlling and quarterly audit support as well as management of the budgeting process as a whole.

What are my responsibilities?

The Assistant Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the Onshore Constructionfinancial, management and business reporting is undertaken accurately and in a timely manner. You will provide appropriate governance to financial reporting and accounting ensuring conformity to organisational guidelines. You will reconcile financial data across SAP and the various consolidation systems, undertake cost control of a number of central cost centres, assist in the preparation of internal management reports. You will also control and manage fixed asset creations, disposals and audits, perform balance sheet analysis and cash flow forecasting. ICFR/RIC controls for the UK and Ireland are also part of this role.

The role will require you to manage the annual budget and monthly forecast processes in line with corporate and regional timelines.You will also obtain all required inputs from the various F&C managers to compile full P&L account, balance sheet and cashflow planning.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

This role is ideally suited to a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with experience of working in a similar role, ideally in a large and fast moving organisation. You will have a good understanding and practical experience of accounting principles including budgeting, month end processes and periodic financial work. You will have excellent IT skills, be an advanced user of Excel and Powerpoint and ideally have some experience of working with SAP.

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in a diverse and multi-cultural environment with stakeholder interaction across multiple teams.
