Job description

The Assistant Accountant will be part of the Accounting Governance team with in the Siemens Healthineers. They will ensure that books and records are kept in quality and for best-practice financial reporting that meets both internal and external requirements for the entities assigned to.

The spectrum of core responsibilities covers review of accounting transactions and ensures books and records in accordance with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines. Perform Balance sheet reconciliations within stipulated timeframe. Coordination with all key stakeholders for audit and provide all necessary supports to external auditors. In addition, supporting role in the preparation of statutory financial statements and perform adhoc tasks.

Key contacts are: Business stakeholder counterparts, Functional Shared Service Centres, Internal & External auditors, Regulatory Bodies in the Finance arena.

What are my responsibilities?

· Assumes active review of accounting transactions each month and accordingly prepare monthly reconciliations of all significant accounts within stipulated deadline for Healthineers companies.
· Performs active role in managing external audit process by co-ordinating with key stakeholders and external auditors for three Healthineers companies.
· Support Accounting & Reporting Manager duringthe month-end closing process and preparation of monthly analytical review for necessary internal sign off.
· Takes responsibilities to validate all reportings from the base system (Spiridon) into Esprit (official HQ reporting) for two Healthineers GB&I business entities. This will include all financial controlling and tools covering Business Unit performance.
· Participate in the preparation of centralized journal transactions and disclosure reporting as required. Support the Head of Accounting for the analysis and commentary of key financial positions as required.
· Assumes responsibilites to deliver internal reporting pack (e.g. tax pack) for Healthineers companies in GB&I.
· Support Accounting & Reporting Managerin preparation of local financial statement (i.e. Statutory accounts) within deadline.
· Assumes responsibilites to deliver internal reporting pack (e.g. tax pack) for Healthineers companies in GB&I.
· Support Accounting & Reporting Manager on Adhoc project/assignment/reporting tasks, if need be.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

· Experienced in accounting & controlling/finance organisation with preferably team lead responsibilities. Good understanding of diverse business models and financial drivers & processes of business.
· Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent. With part-qualification in a formal, recognised, finance accreditation – e.g. ACCA.
· Strong finance background, Good analytical skills with the ability to take data and turn into meaningful information for reporting purposes.
· Strong analytical skills with good command of written and spoken English.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with multi-interface & contacts within organization. Strong presentation skills with ability to manage complexities and crystallises solutions.
· Result orientated, organised with good follow up skills.
· SAP knowledge (especially FICO module) is advantageous.
· Mature, persistent, firm, team player and trustworthy. Ability to forge strong working relations with all financial staffs.
· Working experience in multi national companies / assignment abroad with diversified range of products and services.
