We are looking for an Application Specialist in the field of Aerospace CFD simulations. You will be part of a team of technical experts within the CCM Product Management organization, which works closely with Product Development, Sales, Customer Support, and Marketing to make Simcenter STAR-CCM+ the leading CFD-focused multiphysics solution in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Industry. In this role, you will be a technical resource and leader for the global Siemens PLM Software company, with responsibilities related to material generation for expediting the sales and support functions, technical guidance for customers, managing internal and external technical relationships, and providing technical input to the development process.
Prerequisite and Essential Functions:
●Primary Accountability
oEstablish authority as a global technical leader in Aerospace CFD Applications
oGrowth in usage of STAR-CCM+ for Aerospace Applications
oEffective and regular technical material generation
oBuild, maintain, and manage technical engagements and collaborations
●Overall responsibility
oAs a global technical leader, you are responsible to grow applications usage, primarily in the aerospace & defense industry, by successfully driving technically complex, challenging and strategic engagements
oAs a technical expert, you are responsible to create, maintain and distribute technical material, including but not limited to, benchmarks, journal/conference papers, best practice guides, technical/sales presentations, webinars, internal trainings, demonstration cases.
oAs a global technical leader, you will collaborate with Industry Managers as they run Marketing Campaigns, Sales and Support leaders to expedite technical sales, Product Management and Development to enhance software performance and quality
oYou will provide advanced technical support to the global sales and support organizations, but also build the expertise of engineers within these organizations, enabling them to support common aerospace applications
oAs a subject matter expert, you are expected to know and communicate the market trends and competition to guide both product development and sales.
●Required education and focus
oBachelors, Masters or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics
●Required technical experience (including number of years)
oAt least 3 years' experience with CFD for aerospace applications
●Required work experience (including number of years)
oBachelors – 7 yrs, Masters – 5 yrs, PhD – 3 yrs
●Required knowledge, skills, or expertise
oIn-depth knowledge of aerospace-related CFD applications
oA strong background in Sub/Trans/Super/Hyper-sonic flows, incompressible/compressible flows, turbulence modeling, external aerodynamics, rotating machinery, and meshing complex geometries for CFD
oExperience with multiphase/multi-physics flows and conjugate heat transfer
oHands-on experience with commercial CFD software/s
oBasic Programming and Shell Scripting Skills
oBasic understanding of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
oBasic business acumen to perform Market Analyses
oSelf-motivating, ability to work independently as well as in a team
oAbility to multitask and prioritize work effectively
oGood coordination and communications skills

oPreferred Masters or PhD
●Preferred past experience (including number of years)
oPreferred at least 5 years' experience working at an aerospace company
●Preferred knowledge, skills, or expertise
oExpert knowledge of STAR-CCM+
oExpert knowledge of JAVA, Python and C++
oExperience with cluster management
oExperience with physical testing for aerospace and defense
oWorking business knowledge of the simulation market for aerospace and defense
