Siemens Building Technologies is a leading supplier and trendsetter in supplying products and solutions in the fire, security and energy management industries. We have an exciting opportunity for motivated and ambitious individuals to join our Field Service Apprenticeship Scheme for the fire and security part of the business, commencing September 2019. The Apprenticeship's will either be based in our Frimley, Manchester or London Branches.
For the first 10 months of your apprenticeship, you will be required to be based full time at college and then from July 2019 onwards, you will be on a day release to college and in the business the remaining 4 days. Upon completion of your apprenticeship you will have gained a BTEC Level 3 in electrical/ electronic engineering and there is feasible progression for you to also have started your HNC in electrical/ electronic engineering.The position will involve dedicated training on your journey to becoming a skilled Customer Service Engineer in the Building Technologies industry, with excellent electrical diagnostic knowledge.
You'll havefour GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), which must include Maths, English Language and Science.
You'll have excellent attention to detail as the role requires the diagnosis and repair of complex mechanical and electrical problems.
You must be able to work independently, safely and responsibly; and you're looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
You'll always have an eye on tomorrow, with us; you'll be laying the groundwork for exciting innovations influencing the future of Building Technologies
You'll have a good level of computer literacy
A self-disciplined approach to your studies will be required as well as to your timekeeping and attendance in the workplace.
You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
You'll provide vital technical service support to our customers working very closely with the office technical escalation staff, sales and support teams
You'll be expected to balance technical and personal skills and therefore you need to have a ‘can do attitude'
Joining our field based engineering team and will be ultimately responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of our fire and security systems.
You'll be expected to travel and will work at a variety of sites throughout the UK
