JOB SUMMARY:
The Critical Illness R&D Centre is one of the five actuarial R&D Centres for morbidity related risks.
Within the Critical Illness R&D Centre, you will be involved in improving Scor Global Life’s knowledge on critical illness and provide a high level of expertise on this risk. You will work in a team of actuaries assessing the morbidity and mortality of cancer and other illnesses and conditions covered in Critical Illness and cancer insurance. The activity scope of the department is worldwide but mainly focused on the UK and Asian countries.
As a member of the R&D Centres you may participate in transversal projects with the other R&D centres and work closely with medical doctors.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To improve our methods and tools for the assessment of critical illness risk and to ensure that these are transferred to other actuarial teams. Focus will be on tools to evaluate big data such as portfolio studies or general public data. You will be asked to use Machine Learning technics.
- To participate in partnerships with university researchers, with the aim of anticipating evolutions in critical illness risk and improving our assessment techniques.
- To be involved in internal synergies on critical illness risk by contributing to the efficient exchange of information between the various different teams at SCOR Global Life (training on how to use tools, presentation of pricing approaches, etc.).
- To contribute to the dissemination of our skills amongst SCOR Global Life clients, notably through seminars and publications.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:
Personal Competencies:
- You have strong skills in statistics/mathematics/quantitative economics and you are attracted to statistical/stochastic actuarial modelling.
- You are dynamic and appreciate working in a team. You have good interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- You are attracted by an international work context and relationships with various local entities of SGL.
- You are fluent in English.

- You have a thorough knowledge of SAS/R.
