Job Summary

This position is part of the US Modeling team, which is responsible for actuarial activities associated with SCOR’s US Life reinsurance business, including the following:

Quarterly production runs for Best Estimate Liabilities/Projections, IFRS and US Statutory/regulatory reserves, and DAC.

Quarterly model maintenance and model conversions.

Economic reporting production (Analysis of Change and Sensitivities).

Support operating plans and cash flow testing.

Support internal/external audits.

Provide support to other areas within SCOR (i.e. US reserving, FP&A, Finance, Risk, etc.).

- Key duties and responsibilities

· Assists in the development of seriatim and bulk financial projections for market consistent embedded value analysis, liability adequacy testing, and DAC/VOBA recoverability testing.
· Assists in experience studies and profitability analysis.
· Refreshing existing valuation/projection Prophet models as well as adding new clients to the seriatim valuation/projection modelling process.
· Assists in explaining market consistent embedded value results.
· Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial information in accordance with Statutory, Tax, IFRS, GAAP principles.
· Support reserve credit security/collateral projections and capital forecasts.
· Ensure that appropriate and auditable controls, reconciliations and documentation are maintained with respect to valuation, economic reporting and modeling.
· Utilize technology to perform job functions more efficiently and to further automate the reserving and financial projection processes. Share technology solutions with other associates.
· Complete special assignments and projects for the department as necessary.

- Required experience & Education

· Must have complete 1-3 actuarial exams and have knowledge of computer programming or analytical software.
· Will participate in Actuarial Student Program until FSA is obtained.
· Solid mathematical analysis skills with strong problem solving ability.
· Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
· Highly motivated/self-starter.
· Must be able to work effectively independently & as part of a team.
· Proficiency in windows-based software (Excel, Access, etc.)
· Regular attendance and ability to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
· Strong computer skills including learning new software and Microsoft Office Products.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field with demonstrated record of academic excellence
