PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

This is a leadership position, responsible for production, productivity, safety and financial targets. Prior experience in administering production operations is greatly advantageous.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for training, selecting, and motivating plant production staff to achieve an effective use of manpower and enhance human resource utilization. The Production Supervisor must have good social connections within the plant and company community. He also administers assessment of employee performance and ensures that employees requests and complaints are addressed in time.

The Production Supervisor ensures the utilization of manpower, equipment, materials and assets to ensure minimal manufacturing errors. This also includes initiative plans and assurance of attaining business objectives and production schedules while maintaining safe working environment and high quality product standards. To accomplish this, Production Supervisor must confer with the department leaders to ensure coordination of safety, purchasing, engineering, production and quality objectives.

Qualifications :

RESPONSIBILITIES

· 
Follow and implement applicable Ministry of Labour and Schneider Electric's safety requirements

· 
Work with Sales, Field Services and other Business partners

· 
Plan, coordinate and assign staff for Production project related activities

· 
Plan, coordinate and assign staff for Customer sites related activities

· 
Review work of staff for accuracy, soundness and completeness

· 
Provide technical support and guidance to service personnel

· 
Ensure projects profitability through ab effective workload planning and optimization

· 
Ensure labour succession planning and trainings coordination

· 
Prepare departmental budgets in accordance with departmental requirements

· 
Evaluate performance of staff and make recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, terminations, etc.

SKILLSET AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

· 
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Microsoft Projects and Outlook

· 
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Principles

· 
Knowledge of low and medium voltage product applications

· 
Strong interpersonal communication, presentation and listening skills

· 
Strong written and verbal skills

· 
Strong leadership skills

· 
Project management proficiency

· 
Bachelor's Degree in industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

· 
Minimum 5 years work-related experience





SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

· 
Attend 100% of mandatory safety training arranged by HS&E Department

· 
Ensure 100% attendance of direct reports to mandatory safety training arranged by HS&E Department

· 
Include HS&E topics in staff meetings and document (e.g. ergonomics, office safety issues, shop safety issues, field safety issues)

· 
Ensure compliance with Visitor Safety Program

· 
Conduct accident investigations for direct reports in accordance with the Accident Investigation Program

· 
Completion assigned corrective actions stemming from workplace safety inspections in a timely fashion

· 
Participate in monthly planned workplace inspections and conduct daily unplanned workplace inspections in accordance with the Workplace Safety Inspection Program

· 
Assign responsibility for and ensure timely completion of corrective actions stemming from job site safety inspections

· 
Ensure pre-job safety meetings (“Toolbox Meetings”) are being conducted and documented in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis Program

· 
Complete at least one workplace and docking inspection per month in accordance with the Safety Inspection Program

· 
Conduct quarterly racking inspection
