Data Center Software Services
Remote based role - Western US

This Software Application Engineer will be responsible for executing software deployment projects within the Data Center segment. Schneider Electric's Struxureware for Data Centers software applications are the focus of these deployments. This position will directly support cross-platform integrations between Schneider's Data Center Infrastructure Management applications as well as third party systems.

As Software Application Engineer you will participate in the planning of each project, lead the execution of the service onsite or remotely and lead the turnover to the customer. Software training is part of the turnover, and that includes giving presentations to both small and large groups.

Candidate needs to be able to follow a project plan and also react to project changes as they occur. A focus on overall project health, including customer satisfaction and project financial health, are required.

This position is a remote role with an 80% travel requirement. The position will support primarily projects in the Western United States. However, on an as-needed basis, this position will support projects in the Eastern United States also.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Education Required:
·  Four-year Bachelor in IS/Engineering/Computer Science degree
·  IT Certifications are a plus
·  Knowledge of Data Center operational environment is a plus

Technical Experience Required:

·  Basic knowledge of MS Windows Server OS Architecture and Config
·  Basic knowledge database architecture and setup
·  Basic knowledge of HTTP and Serial protocols
·  Experience with SNMP and Modbus TCP communications over Ethernet
·  Strong knowledge of SNMP
·  1+ years experience with field based devices such as protocol gateways
·  1+ years experience with routers and switches (port knowledge, FTP)
·  Knowledge of Building Management systems and an understanding of Data Center facility management
·  1+ year Object Oriented Programming

·  Ability to give presentations that include C-level audiences
·  Willingness to present to large groups
·  Demonstrated aptitude for writing, with specific focus in complex technical ideas

Work Environment:
·  Subject to inside, climate controlled as well as outside open to the elements environmental conditions.
·  Various customer equipment locations from computer rooms to electrical equipment rooms to outside equipment storage locations.
·  Extensive travel from home to various job sites in the assigned region. Up to 100% of this travel may require an overnight stay in the destination city, and trips may last up to two weeks in duration.
·  Home office environment for completing paperwork, accomplishing admin requirements and technical documentation familiarization and upkeep
