Your Mission:
This position is responsible for performing advanced customer support. A Scada Engineer responds to service requests, scheduled maintenance, diagnoses system malfunctions, repairs or replaces equipment to return the systems to fully operating requirements as specified by the customer or contract.
Your responsibilities:
1. Troubleshoot and the repair of customer's Scada / PLC systems;
2. Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on installed Scada / PLC systems;
3. Be part of an on call support rota;
4. Take ownership of any SCADA/PLC system faults and see through from diagnoses, rectification
and implementation keeping the customer fully informed and aware of any changes etc;
5. Coordinate activities of subcontractors when necessary;
6. Prepare H&S documentation for their own site visits;
7. Modify O&M Documentation where needed;
8. Provide on-site training to customers as needed;
9. Train other members of Power Solutions Services Team, when required.
10. Suggest system improvements, modifications, etc;
11. Carry out small upgrades, modifications as small projects;
12. Financial control of small projects; including procurement, invoice approval, variation handling,
final account agreement, monthly cost to complete reviews. Close liaison with the Commercial Team
and Services Operations Manager.
13. Liaise with our Project Team, on new project to services hand overs;
14. Complete and submit documentation for assigned tasks in a timely manner
About you:
You should have served an Electrical apprenticeship in a related subject and 2 years experience
within a scada environment. You will demonstrate excellent communications skills and have
experience of working in a customer-focused environment. Minimum of two years relevant experience
is required. Ability to act independently and to co-ordinate others if required. Effective interpersonal
skills to represent the company to customers. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical
people. Excellent understanding of SCADA, HV distribution, PLC programming and industrial process
control software. (Schneider Electric - advantageous) Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including
but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Visio and Autocad. The hours are based on a Mon –
Fri (08:30 – 17:30); Possible weekend and overtime available. UK travel and there is the potential for
overnight stays away from home.
