The Accountant (Payroll Specialist) is responsible for ensuring the payroll tax system is updated and accurate for all tax jurisdictions. This position will ensure agency notices are recorded in tool and work with third party tax processor to resolution. This position will also serve as backup for the payroll general ledger process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Manage and update SUI rates in ADP and local file
2.Balance and file various Multiple Worksite reports
3.Load agency notices into payroll tool and work with agencies or payroll provider to resolve
4.Set up/change localities (all entities) as required using the Payroll tool
5.Work collaboratively with Sr Payroll Specialist to analyze and prepare W2C's. Identify root cause and solutions to prevent issues
6.Register with state and local agencies as required. Submit appropriate documentation resulting from acquisitions, company name changes and sales.
7.Review and format year end earnings adjustment files (Mobility, HYPO Tax and other earnings adjustments)
8.Participate in year end review and closing process
9.Act as backup of Payroll GL Accountant when required. Cross training on complete General Ledger and Reporting process,.
10.Assist in producing the required documentation for internal/external auditors
11.Other tasks as assigned.

Desired profile

> Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

> CPP or equivalent preffered

> 3 – 5 years relevant experience
> Payroll Tax Experience, multi-state preferred

> ERP experience & proficiency (ADP preferred)
> Driven, detail oriented individual who can meet aggressive deadlines
> Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multi-task
> Effective written and verbal communication skills
> Strong analytical and Payroll Tax knowledge
> Technology proficiency (Excel)
