What do you get to do in this position?

·
Ability to design complex machinery using a 3-D CAD system

·
Be capable of selecting appropriate materials for design (steel, aluminum, plastics for wear, stress, weight, cost)

·
Familiar with surface treatment technologies, hardening and tempering processes and when they are required in part designs

·
Ability to gather information from external and internal customers and compile this material into a complete mechanical specification, which will also serve as a guide for developing a functioning piece of equipment

·
Possess skills necessary to create layouts of machinery, including but not limited to pneumatics, valves, plumbing, mechanical fabricated parts, components, fasteners,

·
Familiar with GD & T dimensioning

·
Ability to perform tolerance analysis and troubleshoot machine issues

·
Be able to perform basic stress and deflection calculations, and analyze basic airflow / heat rise of thermal systems

·
Work with external vendors and outside suppliers to fabricate and build equipment to specifications, within specified timeframes and on budget

·
Basic knowledge needed to quote the mechanical portion of finished assembly and test equipment in the range of 5k-150k

This job might be for you if:

· 
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering

· 
7-10 years of relevant experience including familiarity with the design of machined and sheet metal parts, selection of raw materials, fasteners, hardware and the ability to qualify outside integrators

· 
7 years minimum PTC Creo Parametric CAD design software, or equivalent

· 
Experience with AutoCAD design software

· 
Familiarity with ergonomic principles and basic design specifications

· 
Some program Management ability

· 
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools (Excel, Project, Word)

· 
Ability to use Tolerance manager software

· 
Previous experience with large equipment builds

· 
Familiarity with all metal fabrication equipment, machining and forming methods

· 
Familiarity with all metal surface treatments, hardening and tempering processes

· 
Knowledge of supply base for selection of materials used in designs

Skills:

· 
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)

· 
Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, mfg operations and others)

· 
Motivated self-starter, who able to work in parallel on multiple projects

· 
Facilitator to drive problem solving and troubleshooting activities

· 
Work with minimal supervision
