Job description

To perform Supplier Quality related activities for the assigned suppliers at Hyderabad Plant and will be responsible for conducting SAM and Process audits at supplier place.

Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve the performance of Suppliers

Special Emphasis is to drive component Robustness activity at supplier place for the critical parts and to set a best in class processes to avoid the failures through deployment of Process Improvements.

I. Key Responsibilities :

1. Responsible for the Supplier Quality related activities for the suppliers assigned to him/her as under.

a. Supplier Approval Process

Conduct audit at supplier end on the QMS on a monthly basis. Maintain database about supplier performance and show month on month improvements. Follow-up with supplier on the improvements to be taken. Work with purchase team to identify the new suppliers, audit the facility, and approve the supplier

b. Part Qualification Process

Provide technical inputs and drawings to supplier to develop new parts. Review samples and inspect them if qualified assess consistency of manufacturing process through PPEP and submit PPEP reports.

c. Supplier Performance Monitoring

Monitor supplier performance on monthly basis to ensure that defect free supplies. In case of rejection in incoming quality study the problem at the supplier end and facilitate RCA. Support in Corrective and preventive action and elimination of problems. Analyze issues of the plant that may be identified at the incoming quality area, during manufacturing or at the customer end. If the problem is attributed to parts quality, immediately visit the supplier premises, conduct studies identify the root cause for the problem and take corrective action.

2. Responsible for on time escalation of quality issues to concerned suppliers, participate in RCA and guiding them in effectively updating and monitor the I2P/G8D/NC's raised in web Portal

3. Responsible for completing the supplier audits like SAM, PPEP and Special process audits as per the plan

4. Responsible for updating the Monthly reporting related to his work on SAM, PPEP and Process audits conducted at supplier places as per the plan.

5. Identify training needs of suppliers based on requirements including quality, and technical, systemic areas. Plan the training schedule and conduct training as per plan. Evaluate effectiveness of training and record the same as per prescribed format. Submit records to parts quality leader.

6. Drive Component Robustness Initiatives and implement Poke-yokes /Jidoka's for processes with High RPN at Supplier place

7. Implement SPC for critical Parameters(CTQ's) and drive action Plans to improve Process Capability & reduce internal and supplier PPM

8. Identify & Drive Quality improvement projects at suppliers through Six sigma methodology

9. Drive standards relevant to manufacturing, Quality & Safety Eg: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18000 etc.
