PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

We are looking for a gifted and talented Junior UX designer with great visual design skills.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the biggest revolutions since the Internet itself and a big part of SAP’s strategy 2016. Customers want outcomes by enhancing their products with digitalized services, revolutionizing how they manage large complex assets, and monetizing information that can lead to entirely new business models. SAP’s IoT solutions, technologies, and ecosystem are helping our customers become the innovators in their industry.

 

The IoT Smart Connected Business product and development unit is tasked to develop and innovate with our customers to deliver IoT innovations at scale.

As a User Experience Designer, you will design SAP’s next generation IoT solutions. In your role, you will directly contribute to turning innovative IoT concepts into reality. Our focus is on designing and developing IoT solutions for desktop, tablet, and mobile, interacting with customers early and incorporating their feedback swiftly. Our commitment to our stakeholders is to produce delightful user experiences in all our products.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a Junior User Experience Designer, you will

·  join an agile, ambitious, energetic, multi-skilled international team,
·  translate business and user requirements into effective UI designs and specifications,
·  create artifacts such as wireframes, hi-fi mockups, and design specs
·  create and present iterative prototypes (high and low fidelity),
·  gauge the usability of new and existing products, and make constructive suggestions for changes,
·  collaborate with product- and project management and engineering teams on use cases and business requirements to craft user interfaces in an agile and fast-paced development process that values close collaboration between disciplines,
·  ensure designs fit within the technical frameworks our solutions are based on.
 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

·  University degree preferably in design, media design, industrial design, or related fields
·  Strong visual design skills, and experience in UI design, and its methodologies
·  Knowledge of common tools like Sketch, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite, OmniGraffle, etc.
·  Proven ability to quickly acquire understanding in new areas and technologies
·  Experience in major aspects of product definition: personas, user stories, task flows, prototypes, and information architecture
·  Ability to work effectively with teams to prioritize UI issues and review the results of user research
·  Self-motivated, curious, open minded, resourceful and flexible with the ability to learn quickly
·  Constructive and open style of communication

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

·  2-3 years of professional experience
·  Practical experience from student jobs or internships is desired
·  Strong digital portfolio which demonstrates high-level proficiency in design for enterprise and/or consumer audiences
·  Knowledge of Design Thinking practices is a strong plus
