PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), together with industrial partners, is running the “Future SOC Lab”, which provides a research infrastructure for on-demand systems. SAP is one of the major sponsors of the lab and provides it with expertise and resources to enable research on future on demand enterprise systems. The lab utilizes the latest, multi/many-core hardware, latest In-Memory data management and on demand enterprise systems. It provides an experimental base for research on innovative concepts in highly complex real-world IT systems. As a student, you will support the operations of the HPI Future SOC Lab.

　

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

You will support the Future SoC Lab in the following fields:　

·  Technical operations of the HPI Future SOC Lab data center including the administration of the SAP HANA landscape and the SAP HANA Database itself
·  Administration, configuration, management and automation of the operation systems as well as server management
·  Maintenance of virtual and physical machines as well as configuration of software
·  Answer requests on the lab's infrastructure from researchers during the execution of their projects

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

·  Student (f/m) at a university or university of applied sciences with preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science or similar fields
·  Computer skills: Experience in administration of software and harwdware, Linux & Windows and database systems; experience with SAP HANA is a plus
·  Language skills: Fluency in German and English - both written and spoken
·  Soft skills: Reliable and open-minded; determined to reach a goal in time, ability to work independently and to prioritize; strong team working skills
