PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative student to join our team and assist in developing SAP IQ and building a next generation in-memory analytical database platform. The successful student will assist in researching, designing, implementing and testing features that deliver world class leading database performance.  You will be exposed to leading edge technologies involving transactional processing, in-memory computing, advanced analytics, distributed processing, extreme parallel processing, high speed network communications and massive data storage.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to look inside and get your hands on a database server and learn how it all works. The successful student will assist in designing, implementing, testing and troubleshooting the required interfaces and features for IQ's high performance and distributed query engine. By joining our team, you become a member of a world-class research team and will be mentored by people who are pushing forward the state of the art in query processing, advanced analytics and distributed DBMS; along with other exciting technologies.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

·  Strong programming and debugging skills in C/C++
·  Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
·  Good oral and written communication skills
·  Ability to work independently

The following are not required but would be valuable:

 

·  Distributed and multithreaded development
·  Programming and development skills in Java
·  Unix platform and administration experience
·  Understanding of revision control and build systems
·  Software design experience
·  Significant hobby programming
