THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The SAP Solution Delivery Centre (SDC) is responsible for driving customer success as ONE SAP by maximizing the adoption of SAP products across industries with accelerated ‘time-to-value', leveraging global scale and expertise through integrated right shore delivery, focusing on remote, factory services and outcome-based solutions that utilize robust processes and practices.  The SDC are a global team with centers in EMEA, India, Greater China, Latin America, and North America.

 

We are growing a Pittsburgh based near-shore center to expand our delivery capabilities within the North American region. Our desire is to provide SAP’s customers access to the best global network of consultants with expertise in SAP’s latest technologies. The Pittsburgh near shore center will be a sophisticated Service & Knowledge organization providing unique capabilities to SAP’s customers in North America and around the globe.

 

Purpose and Objective

 

Work on customer facing project implementations within the HANA Practice at SAP Solution Delivery Center (SDC) with a focus on Development Skills.

 

Job Expectations and Tasks

 

As an ABAP Developer in the team your main tasks will be:

·  Play the role of an Associate Architect with superior technical leadership, communication skills and independence in decision making.
·  Author detailed design specifications and lead reviews to conform to software development processes.
·  Handle end to end project/product delivery independently and provide guidance to team members
·  Perform analysis of critical issues for the project(s)/product(s) and provide expertise towards resolution
·  Perform high-level analysis of any new requirements/change requests to the solution from a techno-functional standpoint.
·  Provide direction to development teams for custom solution realization and participate, as necessary, in coding, testing, documentation, go-live and maintenance support activities
·  Analyze the impact of any new requirements on the existing solution
·  Estimation of efforts for issue-resolution and change requests.
·  Escalate issues well in advance and suggest alternative approaches
·  Guide and influence team members to accomplish the team’s technical and schedule goals
·  Work closely with other custom development team members, SAP development teams, external partners and customer teams to ensure successful project completion
·  Curiosity and fast learning of new technical components and concepts
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills
·  Ability to interact with teams in other geographical locations.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

·  Expertise in software development & programming – ABAP
·  Expertise in SAP systems upgrades ABAP adjustments execution – SPAU & SPDD
·  Proficiency in ABAP Technologies  - ABAP Workbench, ABAP Data Dictionary, Report Programming, Data Migration, Screen Programming, Smart Forms, Adobe forms, Authorizations, ALE/IDOC, Workflow, Performance Tuning, Web Dynpro ABAP, OO ABAP, Database Updates, Enhancements & Modifications.
·  Thorough knowledge of the software development life cycle
·  Experience working in projects related to SAP HANA, S/4 HANA or cloud preferred
·  Experience of working in large landscapes/environments/customers
·  Functional knowledge in at least one of the SAP ERP modules (for instance SD, MM, FI, PP) / SAP Business Suite products (for instance CRM, PLM, SRM) / Industry Solutions (for instance IS-Utilities, IS-Insurance, IS-Automotive, IS-Banking) will be your plus
·  Experience in software projects: evaluating functional specifications, preparation of technical specifications, coding reviews, unit testing, and technical issues resolution.
·  Exposure to agile development methodologies like SCRUM would be an added advantage
·  Experience with databases: Oracle (PL/SQL), SQL Server (T-SQL) will be a plus
·  Exposure to project management or project management methodologies will be a plus

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

·  Bachelors or Master’s degree in: Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or similar degree.
·  At least 3 years previous relevant experience
·  Must be open to travel
·  Candidates with an ABAP Certification are preferred
