Cell Line Development Skill Center – Principal Research Associate

The Sanofi Cell Line Development group is seeking a highly motivated full-time employee to join a high-performing, collaborative team supporting research and preclinical development projects in Sanofi's global R&D pipeline. The team is responsible for the expression of protein biologics from a wide variety of formats and modalities. Our environment is team-oriented, fast-paced, and challenging, and we are seeking candidates with the passion, skills, and determination to execute on our mission of generating high-quality cell lines.

Position Overview and Key Responsibilities

·  Expression vector construction and plasmid preparation
·  Generation and evaluation of recombinant CHO cell lines for preclinical development programs
·  Production and characterization of small-scale cell banks
·  Genetic characterization of production cell lines
·  Conduct studies to help improve speed of cell line development
·  Write technical reports and communicate results in project team meetings
·  Manage work assignments, analyze and interpret test results, and conduct necessary troubleshooting
·  Flexibility, adjusting to a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
·  Good organization and communication skills; must be able to collaborate as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team and adhere to timelines
·  Lead cell line development projects end-to-end

Basic Qualifications

·  BS degree in Biologic or related sciences with 9+ years or MS degree in Biologic Sciences with 7+ years of molecular biology and mammalian cell culture experience.
·  Must be able to collaboratively work in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
·  Must be organized, efficient and able to work across several projects according to timelines to meet project goals

Preferred Qualifications

·  Hands-on experience in vector construction, suspension culture of CHO cell lines, clone isolation, flow cytometry, and genetic characterization
·  Experience in the cryopreservation and thaw of mammalian cell lines
·  Experience in the interpretation of protein analytics, such as glycoform, purity aggregation, and charge variant analysis
·  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with familiarity in FloJo, Vector NTI
·  Excellent oral and written communication skills
