Job description



Deliver all payroll and related activities efficiently, flexibly, accurately and on-time

·  Maintain payroll,
·  Oversee the preparation of payroll data including the collation of submissions from internal partners and third party suppliers
·  Review and confirm payroll calculations performed by the Payroll BPO partner
·  Ensure the completion of accurate & timely reporting to third parties including pensions & share administrators, together with all other reporting for Finance and business requirements
·  Oversee preparation of ad-hoc reports as required in line with data protection requirements
·  Ensure that the above is executed in compliance with Sanofi policies and guidelines and per the Global Core Model and operational KPIs
·  Develop and apply up-to-date knowledge and awareness of local legislation  
·  Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope
·  Prepare and contribute to business reviews as requested
·  Monitor operational KPIs and pro-actively manage execution issues
·  Supervise and coach the team of analysts
·  Provide expertise and coaching
·  Anticipate workload and allocate resources for effective and efficient delivery
·  Active participation in the selection of new employees
·  Evaluate employee performance, determine training needs, develop talent
·  Address performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions
·  Shape and promote a culture of collaboration, trust, and teamwork, throughout the team through leadership and effective communication
·  Focus on employee retention and engagement, and advise management in this regard
·  Motivate and reward employees using the full suite of tools available within Sanofi
·  Develop and maintain job descriptions for direct reports. Provide the necessary information for HR to ensure appropriate grading, recruiting etc.
·  Build, document and transfer EE Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to Payroll (and any other areas with scope of the role)
·  Provide Level 2 support for payroll both through continuous contribution to the Knowledge Database and through responding to queries in ServiceNow in line with agreed SLAs
·  Liaise with internal and external auditors and lead the timely preparation and delivery of material to meet both internal and external audit requests
·  Deliver Ex-Pat and In-Pat payroll provision to support international mobility initiatives
·  Prepare and process liabilities for Modified/Shadow payrolls as notified by 3rd party support
·  Monitor and amend processes/data flows in line with statutory and compliance requirements without compromising the Global Core Model
·  Maintain overall responsibility for payroll sign off and uploading
·  Ensure timely and accurate statutory returns and liabilities
 

Continuous improvement

·  Identify process improvement opportunities through the elimination of redundant activities
·  Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition
·  Participate in global projects as required

Project management ownership and/or support of organisational initiatives

·  Participate in and support the full implementation of the Global Payroll Model and associated projects
·  Lead the Payroll contribution to mergers/acquisitions and/or divestments going forwards
·  Support new projects particularly managing those affecting payroll build/specification

Training

·  Determine the training needs of direct reports, ensure all on-the-job training required is delivered per existing procedures and work instructions, and provide access to any professional training required for the successful completion of their role.

·  Keep personal professional knowledge up-to-date. Participate in professional training and upskilling, review professional journals and publications, align with an appropriate professional body and participate in the professional community
