Job description

The Translational Informatics (TI) department in the Translational Medicine Early Development (TI-TMED) platform at Sanofi is searching for a Data Scientist / Programmer to join our global Clinical Trial Simulation team (CTS).

About the Department:

Our department is focusing on modeling and simulation approaches that aid critical decision making throughout the various phases of drug development. Our mission “turning data into knowledge to support decisions” is based on three cornerstones: (1) quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling and drug disease modeling providing mechanistic understanding of pathophysiology and pharmacology, (2) clinical data analytics providing meta-analysis on comparator data, but also exploring machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches on clinical and real world data to better understand patients and their responds to pharmacological treatments, (3) clinical trial simulation integrating model-based and mechanistic knowledge to inform, de-risk and (where possible) replace clinical trials.

The responsibilities include:

·  Prepare analysis-ready data files from multiple heterogeneous data sources under a defined quality control process
·  Improve efficiency and quality of existing processes to construct datasets and other scientific contributions
·  Help develop and maintain internal software packages to support data science applications
·  Perform exploratory data analyses and visualizations
·  Work with international and interdisciplinary teams to deliver analytics-driven solutions

Qualifications

·  Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, quantitative field with a strong math and science background or comparable
·  Experience programming in at least one high level scripting languages such as R, SAS
·  Experience in clinical data
·  Python, database handling (SQL), and willingness to learn the other
·  Experience in statistical procedures as advantage
·  Good communication skills
·  strong organizational skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and be flexible to change
·  Operational skills that include customer focus, commitment to quality management and problem solving
