Amazon's Australia Retail team, located in Sydney, is looking for a motivated, self-driven BI Analyst to join our team. You will be analysing large volumes of complex data to produce insights that can improve business performance.. This role requires customer focus, strong analytical skills and business acumen in order to support leadership in influencing critical business decisions. It is a pivotal role that will operate across the Retail business and will contribute to the evolution and success of Amazon Australia. As a BI Analyst in the Australia Retail team, you will help identify stakeholder requirements and develop insightful dashboards and reports to support business decisions and provide customer insight. You will work with your counterparts in other Amazon locales to identify and adopt best practices and work with local teams to solve complex problems in a data- driven manner. You will put customer experience at the forefront of your thinking and the scope of your role will be diverse -from ad-hoc pieces of analysis, to ensuring timely regular reporting, enhancing existing reporting pipelines, and working on long-term strategic projects to enhance the BI & Analytics capability in Australia.

To excel in this role, you will:
· Possess superior SQL and ETL skills, and familiarity with AWS Redshift and data visualization tools
· Be commercially savvy and able to tie data / insights back to business and customer context
· Have the ability to monitor and analyse metrics and provide recommendations and guidelines to Retail teams
· Support cross-functional teams on day-to-day execution and support adhoc requests
· Be motivated to learn retail processes and work with customer data
· Be able to perform in-depth analysis to identify root case
· Be comfortable working on data modeling/aggregation
· Be passionate to learn and apply Machine Learning to solve complex problems

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics, Finance or comparable field
· 3-5+ years of relevant in Business Intelligence / Analytics, preferably in a retail or operations environment
· Expert SQL and ETL skills and hands-on data warehouse experience (ideally AWS Redshift), as well as the ability to analyse extremely large sets of raw data
· Experience leading projects of varying size, scope and timelines
· Extremely strong communication skills and the ability to influence
· High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
· Superior analytical skills including advanced Excel, but also strong bias for action
