We are looking for a candidate for a VIE mission of:
Health Safety & Environment Associate
- VIE Contract (W/M)
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Health Safety & Environment group (HSE) is responsible for implementing programs and policies that comply with all local, state and federal HSE rules and regulations and continuously strive to reduce the incidence and severity of occupational injury and illness or impacts on the environment. The HSE department promotes a safe and environmentally friendly work environment through the integration of value added HSE programs, policies, and services.
POSITION OVERVIEW/KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of company Health Safety and Environment programs. Provide support to members of the HSE group
Assisting with day-to-day administrative support for various members of the department and will assist with projects and research as needed. Specific responsibilities of the VIE may include the following:
- Providing general administrative and clerical support, including filing, faxing, copying and data entry
- Coordinating and/or attending meetings with members of the department
- Managing a project to update the department’s Environmental and Safety Management systems; preparing correspondence, PowerPoint presentations and other documents
This project entails reviewing all the HSE Critical Energy equipment and systems (e.g. Boilers, Turbines, Chillers, Electrical Systems, Heating and Cooling Systems, Lighting, Process Control systems etc.) at the Allston Site and performing an analysis on whether each system has an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) governing proper and efficient operation, proper preventive maintenance is being scheduled/completed, critical spare parts are available, proper operational efficiency systems are in place, inspection protocols are available and performed, recordkeeping is occurring properly and records are being analyzed and used to assure proper system operation and employees are trained to ensure to maximize the efficiency of continuous operation.
The results of this project will lead to the development of an action plan that is prioritized according to the results of the analysis.
Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master degree in the Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental related disciplines
- Related working experience of at least 1 year is required
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast, priority-switching environment
- Exceptional communication and problem solving skills
- Good working knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulations
- Basic Computer skills in the Microsoft office suite of programs
- Fluent English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and other applicable regulatory requirements
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast, priority-switching environment
- Exceptional communication and problem solving skills
