Job Purpose:
The Strategic Buyer provides category support to Category and Sourcing Manager for Direct Spend for NTO. The role supports the respective category/sourcing managers with their daily tasks by running sourcing projects/ initiatives, supporting contract negotiations and order execution, supporting execution of NTO direct spend and supplier management strategies. He/ she provides analytics and prepares ad-hoc reports for the category team. He/ she contributes to delivery of measurable value for Novartis, through alignment of business requirements, sourcing expertise, supplier market intelligence, financial productivity and mitigation of risk.

Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery:
• Supports Category and Sourcing Managers in day-to-day spend, projects, contract mamangement and vendors management activities.
• Run simple contract negotiations (CDA, NDA etc.)
• Supports development and execution of projects based on the Category Strategy and business activities to feed into the annual category planning,
• Supports stakeholders in matters management (Project Management) by providing analytics and tracking matter specific metrics.
• Runs supplier evaluations processes (RfIs, RfQs etc.) and order execution tasks
• Collects supplier, market, category and internal business data
• Performs complex matter and vendor level spend analysis
• Prepares ad-hoc reports for customers and the category team
• Contributes to cost-effectiveness of commercial deals, risk management of supply base and ensuring that company standards are appropriately applied
• Supports contract management
• Supports Master Data Management

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Master degree preferred in Business Administration. CIPS or similar qualification will be an added advantages.
• Candidate must have at least 4-6 years of experience, with 2 years’ experience working in a global environment, in an equivalent position.
• Good understanding of operations and business culture of multinational company, cross-cultural working international experience
• Proficient in English, Mandarin and Japanese Language as this role will require constant communication and dealings with our business partners and counterparts in the region
