Quality Assurance Engineering: (Positions Needed: Winter Spring - 1, Summer Fall -1) Assists QA Engineers with key value engineering and/or sustaining product line projects to assure medical device components are efficiently manufactured with high quality and reliability. Responsibilities: identification and resolution of root cause quality related problems, equipment and/or process validation, inspection planning activities, process capability analysis, software programming, electronic circuit and/or fixture/gauge design and project management. Opportunity for exposure to a variation of supplier processes, including machine shops, optics, suppliers, sheet metal, PCB fabrication, etc.
Requirements: Jr./Sr., IE, BME, EE. Statistical Process Control, Printed Circuit Board Assembly, and Medical Device Industry experience preferred.

Quality Assurance Customer Experience Lab: (Positions Needed: Winter Spring – 1, Summer Fall -1) The role working in our Customer Experience Lab, will involve post market product investigations with an emphasis on root cause analysis and corrective action using critical thinking and hands-on testing with electromechanical surgical systems, accessories, and consumables products. Responsibilities include: Identification and resolution of product design and process issues, equipment and/or process validation, statistical data evaluation and trend analysis, identification and facilitation of corrective and preventive action activities, development and presentation of KPIs (key performance indicators) and Critical To Quality attributes, active involvement in a product team as a technology subject matter expert, identification and execution of lean and improvement initiatives. Requirements: Jr./ Sr., IE, BME, EE. Strong technical writing and communication skills, critical thinking, mechanical acumen, and proficiency in statistics and data evaluation required.

Alcon’s 10-12 week summer internship program provides real-world work experience to university students. Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week during the length of their internship, unless otherwise specified by their manager.
