Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) is seeking a highly talented and motivated synthetic/medicinal chemist to join our Global Discovery Chemistry group in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will join an energizing and collaborative research environment working alongside colleagues who are committed to improving human health through the discovery transformative medicines.
We seek an individual who is passionate about drug discovery and enjoys solving synthetic chemistry challenges. The individual will work as part of a cross-functional drug discovery team and have the primary responsibility to carry out the multi-step synthesis of small molecules for biological testing. The candidate will have a proven track record of scientific impact through the preparation of novel molecules and/or the development of new synthetic methods. candidate is expected to implement and contribute new concepts in a collaborative team setting.

Minimum requirements
• B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemistry
• 1-2 years’ experience in the synthesis and characterization of organic molecules
• Knowledge of modern organic synthetic methods
• Experience with common purification and analytical techniques
• Good communication skills and naturally collaborative style
