General Description
The OQA inspection is the critical, final point of quality control prior to product wafers leaving the SAS facility and shipped to customers. The OQA Process Engineer is responsible for overseeing execution of the OQA inspection and investigating issues to closure. This position will interface across levels and departments within the SAS organization to resolve issues affecting product wafer quality and drive actions in response to customer feedback and claims. Specific Job Duties: The OQA Engineer requires a high degree of independent decision making to prioritize work, adjust to changing priorities, and respond to dynamic business requirements. This position will represent the SAS manufacturing site and the Quality division in direct interactions with customer representatives. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, on technical subject matter are required. The job function is located in a clean room environment and requires wearing clean room garments (hood, mask, smock, overboots, gloves and other PPE as required) for significant periods of the workday. The OQA Engineer will oversee the OQA inspection operations, disposition non-conforming product that fails quality standards, and lead investigations in response to quality issues - with escalation as appropriate based on event severity and impact. The position will have responsibility for closed-loop verification of corrective actions and root-cause preventive countermeasures for recurrence prevention (CAPA). Strong attention to detail is required with accountability for errors.

Desired profile

Necessary Skills / Attributes
• Must have 4-year engineering degree (or chemistry, physics, computer science, or math), from an accredited university. • 3+ years of semiconductor experience in high volume manufacturing environment is required. • Knowledge of semiconductor fab processing and defect/yield/reliability mechanisms required. • Experience with Rudolph AVI equipment, SEMES review station, Olympus microscope equipment, and Mirero Datas software and defect classification is strongly desired. • Applications experience, creating and optimizing recipes for AVI/macro inspection equipment is preferred. • Candidate must have appreciation for meeting and exceeding quality objectives; including support beyond M-F 8-5 work hours to identify, troubleshoot and report issues and solutions. • Interface with Quality engineers, technicians, and management to improve operations effectiveness and efficiency. • Must be capable of problem solving complex situations and negotiating the political landscape to accomplish results. • Management of issues that are cross-functional in nature and have visibility to executive management. • Lean/6Sigma/statistical training preferred. • Detailed understanding and experience with SPC and process control systems preferred. • Must have strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills. • Willingness to work in a 24/7 high volume manufacturing environment. • Must be able to perform the visual and physical requirements of the position. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint software required. • Specification and/or SOP creation and management. • Ability to quickly learn and execute proprietary software systems and adjust to procedure changes required. • Identification and containment of suspect material, characterization of abnormality mechanism and disposition of quality issues. • High level of initiative and desire to learn. • Successful candidates will be detail and task oriented and place high value on customer service, team work and flexibility.
