As a Software Engineer in Customer Centric Engineering you will investigate complex issues on our platform that handles 3 billion transactions per day, across a number of different core technologies over a massive code base. You should be passionate about solving tough technical problems, understanding customer impact and recommending improvements to products and processes.
What you'll be doing:
· Using your investigative and technical skills to resolve critical escalations to R&D impacting a wide range of products and customers.
· Debugging Java code using Eclipse, Splunk, and other troubleshooting tools, to identify root causes and provide fixes
· Building relationships with other teams across R&D and data center operations as a technical expert
· Working with and supporting teams across Salesforce, including R&D, and Technical Support, using strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Developing new debugging tools with product teams
What we're looking for:
· Recent graduate Bsc/Msc in Computer Science or equivalent
· Demonstrable curiosity, passion, integrity and outstanding attention to detail in professional and personal pursuits
· Unparalleled troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Software Developer with a strong desire to work on high-profile issues critical to the long-term success of the company
· Competency in an object oriented language; Java preferred
· Familiarity with Oracle and/or other relational databases (Postgresql, MySQL etc)
· Familiarity with core web technologies: HTTP, JSON, REST, XML
· Experience with a known IDE: Eclipse or IntelliJ
Desired qualifications:
· Previous Salesforce / Force.com development experience
· Experience with Agile methodologies
· Log parsing in Splunk
· HTTP traffic analysis: Fiddler or Charles
· Performance analysis: Java Flight Recorder, JMC
· Experience with Oracle SQL developer
· Front end development experience: Javascript, HTML5
· Caching technologies: REDIS, Memcached
· Experience with mobile app development: iOS/Android Simulator
