Position Brief:
The principal role of this position is to support Category Management in the execution of the 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Methodology and on-going category management activities for assigned categories. The Intern will also lead Strategic Sourcing Events for less complex Categories.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing:    
· Collect data and perform spend analysis and category profiling
· Collect information and analyze supplier marketplace data including industry structure and demographics, supplier performance, cost dynamics, etc.
· Generate list of prospective suppliers 
· Create and support development of RFI/RFP/RFQ, including on-line means Category-related:
· Provide periodic category reports detailing end-user satisfaction, spend and usage trends (historical and projected), prices, quality and service levels, realized savings, supplier performance metrics, next-generation improvement opportunities, etc. Supplier-related:
· Supplier review: Prepare supplier reviews/scorecards in conjunction with Category Managers
· Issue resolution: Support category managers to resolve major supplier performance issues; Perform supplier on-boarding and termination activities
· Profiling: Maintain supplier database; track user satisfaction by suppliers; identify major industry trends and competitive dynamics (e.g., consolidation, new entrants); track significant customer wins/losses and strategic direction
Skills and Requirements:
· Experience with strategic sourcing is highly desirable
· Good communication skills and follow-up discipline
· Highly motivated, self-starter
· High need for accuracy and attention to detail
· Flexibility to adapt to changing business situation
· Good conceptual and analytical thinking
