Job description

Who are we ?

Innovative? Customer Focused? Agile? Open and Engaging? Entrepreneurial? – Our key attitudes and way we like to work at Saint-Gobain. If this sounds like you, please read on to find out more about the Commercial Analyst opportunity we have with Graham, The Plumbers Merchant, one of over 35 brands we operate as throughout the UK.

As a Commercial Analyst, we will look to use your strong financial and commercial acumen and analytical mind-set to support our commercial services team and their responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of all commercial reporting, compliance and controls, specifically for pricing and margins, working with both Brand and Shared Service functions.

You’ll also be involved with;

·  Ensuring timely and accurate updates are applied to Graham Price File, generating impact assessments for evaluation and sign off.
·  Evaluating Category proposals for Annual Supplier agreements and Rebate expectations, ensuring checks and balances are in place and adhered to, to allow the accurate reporting of rebate accruals and rebate in stock.
·  Supporting the Accounting Finance Team; ensuring new accruals and corrective or exceptional postings are correct, justified and authorised.
·  Identify and report on areas of risk; working with Sales and Operations to swiftly act upon reported occurrences detrimental to our Customer offer or profitability.

To be successful in the role you will be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative towards business improvement. This will require a balance of a flexible, analytical and methodical approach in problem solving, and the tenacity to advocate for change in areas of improvement you’ve identified – being comfortable communicating with all levels of staff and management in the company.

With technical skills, we need you to be proficient in Excel and ideally you will have previously used TM1 and Kerridge. Industry knowledge would be advantageous, however if you have worked with the full life-cycle of a commodity product, that will translate well into this role.

We value attitude and drive, and will be happy to develop the right candidate. Even though this is a challenging time, and the role will initially start as being remote, you will be joining a passionate team who will support you as you are brought up to speed with the business and the role.

We are an inclusive employer and keen to hire talented people regardless of their background, abilities, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, national origin, what football team you support, taste in music, fashion sense or anything else that makes you, you!

We believe that working in a diverse business can be more enjoyable, teams can be more innovative, and make better decisions. We already employ many fantastic people from diverse backgrounds, but we still want to do more.

So, we are on a mission to make Saint-Gobain inclusive and accessible to all, with role models for you to look up to and learn from, no matter who you are!
