Job description

Job Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in developing and implementing advanced purchasing strategies to support Safran Ventilation Systems' North American operations. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing Director, this position requires in-depth knowledge of the global supply chain, strategic supplier management, and cross-functional coordination within the Safran group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and formalization of Safran Ventilation Systems' purchasing strategy for key commodity categories in close collaboration with the global Purchasing Department.

• Monitor evolving market trends and supplier landscapes to identify innovative sourcing opportunities that enhance competitiveness and program objectives.

• Drive cost optimization initiatives and propose strategic solutions aligned with Safran's global business goals.

• Establish and maintain collaborative networks with Safran Purchasing entities worldwide to leverage synergies and align sourcing strategies across regions.

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers critical to Safran's North American production activities.

• Lead Request for Quotations (RFQs) and negotiate complex contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with Safran's rigorous standards and global policies.

• Chair supplier selection committees, collaborating with multi-functional teams to make data-driven sourcing decisions.

• Oversee supplier contracts, including General Terms Agreements and Price & Logistics Agreements, ensuring ongoing compliance and alignment with corporate objectives.

• Support New Product Introduction by coordinating sourcing activities across relevant commodity groups.

Leadership and Compliance:

• Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the Purchasing and Supply Chain departments, fostering a culture of operational excellence and innovation.

• Ensure strict adherence to Safran's purchasing policies, procedures, and corporate governance standards.

• Actively participate and contribute to departmental and cross-departmental meetings, driving alignment and knowledge sharing.

General Duties:

• Proactively work in continuous improvements within the department.

• Ensures that purchasing department follows all guidelines and procedures (Safran and Safran Ventilation Systems).

• Ensure reporting of consolidated Key Performance Indicators to the Purchasing Direction.

• Attends and actively participates in departmental meetings in a positive manner.

Candidate skills & requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree (required)

Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a production environment.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Windows Operating System.

Other Skills: Solid understanding of Production Planning and Production Scheduling, best practices and principles is required. Negotiation and technical skills.
