Job description

Job Title: External Scheduler (Materials Scheduler, Production Planner)
Department: Supply Chain
Location: Burnley
Fixed term contract: initial 6months fixed term

The Role

To establish a realistic short term supply plan that satisfies the MPS, direct customer orders and stock policy targets. To test the feasibility of the plan, by performing detailed capacity planning and resolving imbalances.

Main Responsibilites
• Reviewing all parts associated with A330neo
• Smooth handover from NPI team of all associated parts
• Define the supply parameters in the ERP item file within their scope of activity which are consistent with stock targets and the industrial strategy
• Issue the schedule agreements or purchase orders in line with ERP recommendations (1st & 2nd tier)
• Obtain acknowledgement from the supplier for any changes or modifications to requirements
• Negotiate dead-lines and quantities with suppliers within the limits of the contract established by purchasing (negotiation of dead-lines / quantities, but not pricing)
• Measure and analyse supplier performance in coordination with the SPM (where applicable) using the defined metrics and provides the required weekly/monthly reports
• Organise regular visits to the external supplier's site to hold progress review meetings or to discuss short term performance issues
• Working with external scheduling team to Liaise with suppliers on shortages.
• Working with internal customers to ensure delivery dates of the Thrust reverser are met
• Establish and implement actions plans to limit uncertainties and hazards in the short term horizon and work with the external supplier to shorten production cycles within the supplier's manufacturing process

Candidate skills & requirements

Skillset Requirements
• Supply chain experience in an engineering/aerospace is ideal but other manufacturing environment is still highly desirable
• A good team player, this is essential in a close knit team who provide support to one another
• Portal
• High degree of organisation and ability to work toward deadlines and/or resolve issues threating timeframe of production
• Good communication skills
• SAP knowledge is preferred
• Excel and other Microsoft package experience
• Project management skills preferred
• Capable of communicating clearly and concisely
• Able to escalate at the right time and at the right level
• Capable of making decisions
• Able to negotiate well with internal contacts and external suppliers
• French language skills are helpful but not essential
• Capable of using Computer and Desktop tools in day to day planning activity
