Job description
• To support effective configuration management across engineering projects by administering configuration and change control processes within the PLM environment.
• The role ensures configuration data accuracy, traceability, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle, while supporting engineers and projects in applying agreed configuration management practices.
• Responsible for supporting configuration governance in accordance with site and product configuration management plans and processes.
• Supports the application of Configuration Management within the ALM/PLM environment across engineering projects at the Pitstone site.
• Supports the preparation and administration of project Configuration Management Plans.
• Provides administration and coordination support for Configuration Management Board (CMB) activities.
• No direct reports.
• Works closely with engineers, programme teams, quality, and other functions across the site.
• Support the administration of Change control within the PLM system, ensuring Changes are correctly raised, progressed, and closed in line with defined workflows.
• Administer Change Request and Change Notice workflows in PLM, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.
• Support the operation of the Configuration Management Board (CMB) by preparing inputs, tracking actions, and maintaining accurate records.
• Coordinate with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure Change impacts are available and visible for review and decision-making.
• Maintain configuration records, product structures, and baseline data within PLM in accordance with configuration management procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing configuration data, evidence, and traceability (e.g. PCA / FCA activities).
• Support peer reviews and engineering teams by promoting correct application of configuration and change processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of configuration management processes, guidance, and ways of working.

Essential
• Understanding of configuration management principles within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Awareness of Change control processes and lifecycle concepts.
• Experience working with structured data, records, or workflows.
• Good attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively within diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
Desirable
• Experience supporting configuration or Change administration activities.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering data management tools (e.g. Windchill).
• Awareness of aerospace or regulated industry standards and expectations.
• Interest in developing further capability within configuration management.
