Job description



Reporting to the Airworthiness Manager in Gloucester you will support the Airworthiness function in its mission to ensure application of airworthiness regulations and certification requirements on SLS LGI products, during initial design and in-service in Gloucester

Complementary description

Responsibilities include:

·  • Prepare and maintain SLS LGI procedures to meet airworthiness regulations
·  • Maintain and develop SLS LGI EASA Design Organisation Approval plus Design delegations
·  • Airworthiness risk occurrences and monitor their resolution.
·  • Advising and training SLS LGI personnel on airworthiness and managing the process for authorisation of the organisation's Engineering Signatories.

Detailed responsibilities include:

·  • Assure airworthiness regulations and certification requirements on SLS LGI products and design activities
·  • Preparation and maintenance of SLS LGI airworthiness related procedures
·  • Manage the SLS LGI Engineering signatory process
·  • Management and monitoring of airworthiness risk occurrences
·  • Advising SLS LGI personnel on Airworthiness related issues
·  • Provide Airworthiness training of SLS LGI personnel
·  • Maintenance of SLS LGI EASA Design Organisation Approval
·  • Maintenance and development of SLS LGI Airworthiness and Design delegations from Airframers

Job requirements

Candidate skills and requirements
The ideal candidate will be qualified to HNC/HND level, but ideally BSc/MSc, in Mechanical or
Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, and have experience in Landing Gear design, qualification
and in-service design support.
You will also have knowledge of company procedures, airworthiness regulations and aircraft
certification requirements.
In order to carry out this role, you will need to demonstrate good competencies in communication
(written & verbal), team working and decision making, with effective influencing and problem
solving skills.
Technical skills:

·  • Experience of Landing Gear design and certification
·  • Knowledge of SLS LGI procedures and Design Standards
·  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations and aircraft certification requirements

Communication and other skills:

·  • Communication and attention to detail (written and oral)

·  • Problem solving and Decision making Educational skills and experience

·  • Minimum of HNC/HND level, but ideally BSc/MSc, in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent

·  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in aviation fields. The following would be beneficial to the candidate:
o SLS and One Safran procedures

Frequent travel, as per job requirement, is foreseen (predominantly Europe and North America).
