Job description

Summary of Job Purpose:

Performs maintenance, repair or overhaul of gas turbine engines, gas turbine starting systems, and auxiliary power units to include sub-assemblies and components. Performs assembly and testing of turbojet engines. Supervises and trains shop technicians, schedules workflow through shop in coordination with Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with 2nd Shift Lead to ensure our weekly production schedule is met.

• Trains and assists Technicians in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty.

• Schedules work tasks for technicians in order to ensure weekly production goals are met.

• Helps with services calls and ensure all parts are issued for MRO units ready for assembly.

• Helps develop procedures, identifies problems, and recommends solutions to fulfill project objectives; recommends expenditures. Has authority to act at his/her own discretion, with short-term review or audit by the Operations Manager.

• Helps assign and monitor work of subordinates, including training and coaching, conducting of ongoing performance planning and appraisal; and recommending actions. Supervises 4 to 5 direct employees.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Education/Knowledge/Skills and Abilities

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A&P Certification a plus.

• Intermediate Level – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint;

• SAP experience is a plus.

• Mechanical/technical/interpersonal skills that can be applied immediately to the job duties and that are adapted to the unique requirements of the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit and talk or hear.

• The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally expose to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
