Team Manager- Quality Management

Job Responsibilities:

Purpose and Mission, Role of the Team Manager - Technology Center Development

Build, manage and engage a new team of testing and validation specialists to contribute to Roche´s IT services and projects. Secure build and retention of technical and business knowledge in the team. Establish strong partnerships that enable consistent utilization of team and own the result of pro-actively driven constant improvement / team development.

Key Partnerships

The position holder partners with IT leadership, business team managers / demand management and his/her peers in the delivery excellence management team. He/she is further an entrepreneurial influencer and builds new partnerships in support of the centers agenda.

Expected Business Outcomes

The position holder is accountable for all outcomes towards the Head of Delivery Excellence. Those include (but are not limited to):

·  A fully staffed, engaged, utilized and effectively managed quality management team
·  Cost effective, highly productive partnerships with suppliers of external talent
·  Operational effectiveness & successful project execution

Main responsibilities and accountabilities:

Team Management

Manages a team of testing and validation specialists. Thereby is accountable for team's performance and secures a positive working environment that is conductive to personal & professional growth. This includes determining the optimum composition of the team required for implementing our strategy (both internal staff as well as external partnerships).

Further the position holder is accountable to champion and enforce quality management best practices and standards and makes sure the team contributes to our global community of practice.

Partnering

Advises business partners, IT leadership and peers on IT execution strategy and optimal staffing / shaping of projects and services. Pro-actively builds relationships and helps team and peers to connect and navigate Roche´s organizational matrix. Partners with Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management teams to make sure we have the best (value & cost) external quality management support capabilities available.

Knowledge Management

Own, develop, align and execute an effective knowledge management plan that secures build up and retention of technical capabilities and Roche business knowledge. You are accountable to protect the organization against the negative effects of fluctuation / rotation.

Budget Management

Accountable for team budget, planning, implementation (within DoA) and monitoring. Proactively identifies opportunities to increase productivity and optimize budget.

Portfolio Building

Acts entrepreneurial, seizing opportunities for the Roche Global IT Solution Centre to add more value to Roche. Actively reaches out to colleagues / IT partners to create awareness on available capabilities and understand business needs.

Support Strategy Development

Contribute to the shaping and execution of the Roche Global IT Solution Center KL strategy as a member of the Delivery Excellence Management Team.

Qualifications and Experience required:

·  Masters degree or equivalent in IT, engineering, business or related field.
·  More than 10 years' work experience with minimum 3 years as a functional team manager and minimum 5 years as a quality management expert with a strong validation and testing background. Prior experience in quality management in a life sciences company is highly advantageous.
·  At least 2-3 years' experience in a multinational, multicultural company and more 3 years working in an agile development environment. Having relevant certificates is advantageous.
·  Excellent communication and English language skills (ability to speak additional languages is a plus)
·  Team building and leading of people through change towards accountability and strong customer focus.
·  Knowledge of System Development, Testing and Service Management processes; Strong analytical skills and process thinking; Have a passion for innovation and trying out new things.
·  Developed ability to cooperate with IT colleagues and business partners, locally, regionally and globally. High emotional intelligence, ability to convey strategy and strong trust-building skills are critical for success.
