Summary

Designs a complete and complex framework, system or product. Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates success in technical proficiency, creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought. Strong knowledge and application of engineering principles and concepts.

Able to work where project goals are broadly defined; defines project milestones; responsible for timely project completion.

Makes contributions to strategic directions and projects through knowledge of technology and its creative applications. Contributes to activities for publication and/or patent potential.

Support the development of plans, and executes project work streams related to the strategic needs of the company. Designs and executes experiments to test hypothesis related project outcomes; extracts the full relevance of technical observations. Applies technical knowledge to multi-disciplinary projects. Assures experimental quality through sound experimental design; utilizes DOE; assists in the design of experiments for others.

Participates or leads cross-functional technical teams.

Provides a technical role model to others. Contributes to advancing the level of technical expertise within the company.

Presents results of projects internally. Reviews and critiques presentations for others.

Consistently and effectively presents complex technical data to large and diverse groups.

Monitors work to ensure quality, and continuously promote Quality First Time.

Qualifications

BS degree in a directly related discipline + 5 years of related experience required OR MS degree in a directly related discipline + 3 years of related experience required OR

PhD degree in a directly related discipline + 2 years of related experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Trains others using a variety of methods on the theoretical and practical basis of techniques, processes and products. Participates or leads in project planning, process updates and contributes to experimental design. Presents results of projects both internally and externally. Reviews and critiques presentation for others; presents complex technical data to large and diverse groups.

Preferred experience within an Agile environment.
