The Solution Architect is a member of GPS & Partnering IT (FPPO) organization. This position is located in Welwyn. This position will report to the IT Solution owner and will work very closely with the Solution, Delivery and Technical leads and is able to provide technical leadership to specialist staff. This position will own the PPP IT Portfolio architecture governance, roadmap, and technology landscape.

The primary responsibilities are:

·  Ensuring that Informatics Solutions are strategically consistent, fit for purpose, and comply with all relevant IT and business standards as well as governing the integration of all solutions in collaboration with the Enterprise Architecture team and the integration competence center
·  Creating, designing and reviewing solution architecture documents at high quality standards
·  Researching new technologies to optimize the current solutions and to make them sustainable for the future, applying in-house standards and market best practices
·  Being accountable in providing architecture oversight for all business applications within the GPS IT portfolio and ensuring the business strategies and priorities are supported by the right solutions and components.
·  Acting as a liaison between Enterprise Architecture , FPP Architecture Council and PPP IT Solution Architecture.

The Qualifications:

·  Certification within the specific area of technology or application supported is required.(eg Planisware - TOGAF)
·  Comprehensive level of technical leadership experience preferably within multiple technology or business domains
·  Experience of the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in planning and portfolio management solutions is an asset.
·  Good knowledge in the following platforms and technologies: data architecture and integration, solution architecture, technical components and integration patterns,, Web services architecture, Java based application servers, Virtualization, Identity Management, Saas and Cloud vendors management.
·  Flexibility to travel for up to 25% of time including outside of home country
