The Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship (RPF) program is aimed at supporting excellent young scientists focusing on collaborative R&D projects between Roche and international academic institutions. Both internal Roche and academic experts will mentor you, and you will have the potential to perform hands on research in both lab environments.

The partnership with academia is an important aspect of our program's approach. This position is initially for 2 years but an extension for a third year is possible, depending on project progress.

As a PostDoc in the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics group in Basel you will be an integral part of the “CRISPR screening in Cancer Immunotherapy” team and will collaborate closely with various project teams from the Oncology research department.

You will also:
·  Be responsible to develop and implement best practice solutions to analyze CRISPR/Cas9 functional screening data with focus on the development of novel computational methods;
·  Identify, characterize and prioritize novel cancer immunotherapy targets derived from these screens;
·  Work with international, inter-disciplinary teams, learning and exploring new fields.

You have the following qualifications:
·  You hold a PhD (or equivalent degree) in bioinformatics, computer science or statistics (or molecular biology with strong bioinformatics background);
·  You have excellent capabilities in computational science including statistical programming skills (e.g. R);
·  In your PhD research, you have demonstrated proficiency working with bioinformatics tools, and the development of novel computational methods; a strong background in the analysis of RNA sequencing data is a plus;
·  You have profound knowledge in biological sciences (especially cancer immune therapy);
·  You show strong team spirit and excellent communication skills in English.
