The Global Evidence, Policy and Outcomes team is centered on providing expertise in the areas of evidence, real-world data, value-based healthcare and health policy for Roche Diabetes Care. As part of the Global Medical & Scientific Affairs department, we are committed to deliver innovative and credible evidence and policy solutions that enable sustainable access to our products for patients, health care professionals and payers.

The position / Job Description:

Real World Data (RWD) and Real World Evidence (RWE) is playing an increasingly important role in health care decision-making. Comprising data collected from sources outside of randomized controlled clinical trials, RWE can weave different sources of data together to better address individual patient needs and improve health outcomes.

The Global Evidence, Policy and Outcomes group (GEPO) team at Roche Diabetes Care (Medical Affairs) aims to “Engage with our internal & external stakeholders to define and demonstrate the value of Roche Diabetes Care offerings to payers, patients, and providers - Deliver innovative, credible and tailormade solutions to enable sustainable patient access to our offerings.”

Joining GEPO as an intern provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into how RWE can support market access, scientific knowledge, best practice and improved outcomes for patients.

This position is ideal for a student who is interested in pursuing a career within the pharmaceutical industry, but has limited experience and understanding of industry. The internship could potentially be used to complete a master's thesis.

During your internship your tasks will include:

· 
Support Implementation of RWE analytics projects and studies

· 
Prepare project plans, e.g. including process flow, milestone tables, decision points for feasibility assessments, go/no-go criteria

· 
Prepare key project and study meetings, e.g. including slides for project updates and discussions

· 
Support project tracking and reporting

· 
Ensure flawless execution of studies by vendors

· 
Support development of study materials such as study concept sheets, protocols and final study reports

· 
Plan and lead activities that improve internal information sharing

· 
Consolidate internal and external evidence generation to ensure optimal leveraging of data for external communication

· 
Create communication materials to promote the value of RWE to internal and external stakeholders

· 
Country level support including best practice sharing

· 
Lead the develop and maintaining our G-site and G+ Community

Enrolled in an MPH, MS, MPP or other related degree a quantitative data science discipline (e.g., statistics/biostatistics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, health economics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, outcomes research, public health, biology, medicine, psychology)

· 
Course work or experience in health policy, public policy, research methods, survey design and statistical analysis are preferred.

· 
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

· 
Knowledge and understanding of different types of and levels of evidence needed for various partners (e.g. payers, patients and health care professionals)

· 
Insights of global health care systems and types of payers.

· 
Knowledge of global advisory and/or non-profit organizations in diabetes.

· 
English language fluency and good writing/communication skills

The preferred start date of this internship is summer/autumn 2020. Along with your CV, please include a cover letter outlining your motivation and expectations for this internship. Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens needs to provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is a mandatory part of their degree, as part of the application documents.
