The Position
The Field Implementation Specialist is an entry-level, national position that serves as the primary liaison representative providing post-sales customer support during the installation, implementation, and training of clinical chemistry and immunoassay analyzers/instruments, such as cobas Pro and cobas 8000, at customer sites.
This position is a 24 month fixed-term, full time position with a possible extension up to a total of 36 months based on business need and job performance. You will receive healthcare benefits, PTO, 401k, holidays and sick time.
As an entry-level specialist, you will be mentored to provide highly visible, self-supervised, self-directed, and extensive onsite advisory customer support. While some job tasks may be performed remotely, this is a field-based, national role which requires 95% travel to client sites, including overnight travel Mon-Fri every week. Company car is provided. Additionally, you will need to currently reside within 50 miles from a major, metropolitan airport in the US since relocation benefits are not provided.
JOB FACTS
Learns and provides entry-level support as the primary liaison/customer support representative throughout each customer implementation
Validates installations
Identify training gaps by assessing customers' organizational structure, analyzers/instruments, workflow, and current knowledge/experience
Develops and delivers training to customers on Roche platforms, processes and expectations, including planning and coordination for implementation
Provides first-level and problem solving of issues that arise for customers during the lifecycle of the solution; refers only the most complex issues to higher levels
Identifies opportunities for new system consumables for clients (i.e. reagents, primary antibodies, bio-markers, software)
WHO YOU ARE
You are an ASCP-certified med tech or clinical laboratory scientist who has at least 3 years of experience working with chemistry analyzers/instruments in a clinical setting (hospital, IDN, or reference laboratory). You like to continually learn and have a passion to work with people in a customer-facing role. You look forward to traveling the country and currently reside near a major metropolitan airport in the US. You are interested in joining the world's largest biotech company and may have interest in joining Roche in the longer term.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Medical Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences AND
3 years previous experience in a clinical laboratory or IT support in a clinical lab environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Able and willing to travel 95%, including overnight travel; also currently reside within 50 miles of a major metropolitan airport in the US
ASCP certification
Ability and willingness to rapidly gain and apply new knowledge, solutions, and skills for Roche chemistry and IT solutions
Effective customer communication skills (written and verbal), positive attitude, helpful customer interaction, and fostering of strong internal and external customer relationships
Effective time-management, organization, and prioritization skills
Ability to work as a field-based individual contributor with independence and autonomy
