This is a great opportunity to become a member of CGI's team in Victoria, to provide leading information technology services to our clients. We are seeking a Business Analyst with a minimum of 5 years IT experience including 2 years of Agile development and SCRUM experience in government environments.

The Business Systems Analyst will be charged with working on web, client/server and workflow based development projects to ensure the quality delivery of new or enhanced systems. You will have responsibility for process coordination, process flows, use cases and other documentation. The person in this position is expected to have had deep experience in application development and one or more of the core disciplines (use case elaboration, logical application design, BPM, SOA, Data Analysis), but is expected to be able to work across all of them as required.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Interact with other business analysts to understand the requirements
Interact with architects and technical leads to convey system requirements
Conduct research around data availability and needs for a specific client project
Determine data management strategies for the project
Interact/guide the development team
Interact with system testing team
Prepare high quality functional design documentation
Contribute to the advancement of enterprise capabilities in system analysis and design domains

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Solid understanding of security and privacy best practices
Experience with Agile Development and SCRUM methodologies
Minimum 5 years Systems Analysts/Design experience or combination of Analyst and Developer experience
Experience in large system development projects
Advanced GUI design experience
Advanced front and back office User Experience expertise
Sound knowledge of SOA web services functional design
Experience in workflow systems
Advance knowledge of uses case and process modeling techniques
Well versed in non-functional requirements, such as performance, response time, operability and traceability
Experience with sizing and planning of new initiatives
Expertise in SDLC & PMLC processes
Knowledge of database and data modeling
Excellent analytical/documentation skills
Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, Sharepoint and Microsoft Project

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:

University or College degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
Strong qualifications as outlined in this posting will be considered in the absence of this educational requirement.

Strong team player, with ability to work both in teams and individually.
Ability to lead and mentor others
Excellent English communication (written, oral and presentation) skills
Excellent interpersonal skills help systems analysts work with end users as well as with business analysts, developers and other systems professionals
