dunhill – Hard Products & Industrial Designer
(Permanent Full-Time)
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
· Research and development of Hard Product & Gifting collections
· Sustain and mindfully evolve the hard products category in line with house codes
· Ensure consistency of design aesthetic in various material disciplines across categories
· Design alignment responsibility for all signature hardware that is continuous through all product divisions, building a greater cohesion between the categories
· Research and development of new techniques in metal patterns and surface finishes
· Design hard products that reflect dunhill’s luxury position and sophistication in relevance to the design Zeitgeist
· A strong understanding of men’s luxury goods and fashion market
· To partner and collaborate with category designers to develop and establish a dunhill language of design
· To partner with PD partners at every stage of the development process
· To connect with merchandising at key times to gain sales insight and dynamics of our market in relevant categories.
· Ensure a consistent look and feel across all elements of responsibility in the role. Synergy and alignment across all design areas is essential
· To continue to evolve, build and maintain the hard product design archives
· Assist with presentations of design work and presentations as required
· Travel to UK based suppliers when needed
· Work closely with London Leather Workshop in Walthamstow in alignment with Head of Leathergoods
· To initiate and manage the initial creation of 3D files/model and specification document in conjunction with the product development team
· Lead and re-invigorate the formal and casual belts category. Create a concise design language, with both leading fashion shapes and contemporary classics, developing great pieces that align with menswear and new direction at dunhill
· Key/Strong skills in Rhino 3D, Keyshot and all Adobe Creative Suite
